Ingredients

For the Hummus:

  • 2 cups cooked or canned chickpeas
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 23 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • 24 tbsp water (as needed)

For the Beef Topping:

  • 300g ground beef (mince)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp pine nuts (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the hummus by blending chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and water until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency as needed.
  • Spread the hummus evenly on a serving plate.
  • Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and sauté until soft.
  • Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Mix in cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon (if using), salt, and black pepper.
  • Cook until the beef is fully cooked and aromatic.
  • Optional: toast pine nuts in a separate pan until golden.
  • Spoon the warm beef mixture over the hummus.
  • Top with toasted pine nuts and chopped parsley.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and serve immediately.
