Ingredients

  • 45 feijoas (scooped and chopped)
  • 2 apples (peeled and diced)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (plus extra for fruit)
  • 150 g butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray.
  • In a bowl, combine chopped feijoas and apples with lemon juice, a little sugar, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and baking powder.
  • Rub in the butter using your fingertips until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
  • Press half of the crumble mixture firmly into the base of the tray.
  • Spread the fruit mixture evenly over the base.
  • Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the top.
  • Bake for 35–45 minutes until golden and the fruit is tender.
  • Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
