Ingredients

  • 23 apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup butter (softened)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease or line a baking tray.
  • Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples; set aside.
  • In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until smooth.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared tray.
  • Arrange apple slices on top, gently pressing them into the batter.
  • Sprinkle with extra sugar and cinnamon if desired.
  • Bake for 30–40 minutes until golden and a skewer comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes
