These Sugar Plums are a classic no-bake holiday treat made with dried fruits, nuts, and warm spices, rolled in sugar for a festive finish. Naturally sweet and easy to make, this traditional sugar plum recipe is perfect for gifting, snacking, or adding a nostalgic touch to your dessert table.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried plums (prunes)
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup dates, pitted
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or almonds)
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 12 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  • Add dried plums, apricots, and dates to a food processor. Pulse until finely chopped and sticky.
  • Add nuts, orange zest, honey or maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Pulse until well combined and the mixture holds together.
  • Scoop small portions and roll into bite-sized balls using your hands.
  • Roll each ball in granulated sugar until evenly coated.
  • Place on a tray and let set at room temperature for about 1 hour to firm up.
  • Serve or store once set.

Notes

Lightly oil hands to prevent sticking when rolling.Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.Roll in powdered sugar or coconut for a different finish.
