This healthy swordfish recipe delivers a rich, meaty texture with bright Mediterranean-inspired flavors, making it ideal for easy weeknight dinners or elegant special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 swordfish steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Lemon slices, for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat the swordfish steaks dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Place the swordfish steaks in a baking dish and brush the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the fish.
  • Top the fish with lemon slices and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  • Roast for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steaks.
  • The swordfish is done when it becomes opaque and flakes easily with a fork or reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • Remove from the oven and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Avoid overcooking, as swordfish can dry out quickly.
  • Fresh lemon juice gives the best flavor, but bottled juice may also be used.
  • A glass or ceramic baking dish works well for even roasting.
  • For extra richness, drizzle with garlic butter before serving.
  • Pair with roasted vegetables, rice, couscous, or salad for a complete meal.
