Ingredients

fresh or frozen cranberries
orange juice
orange zest
sugar
water
cinnamon (optional)
vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, water, and sugar. Stir well.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  • Reduce heat and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and soften.
  • Add orange zest and optional cinnamon or vanilla extract.
  • Continue simmering for 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
