This Mars Bar slice is a rich, no-bake dessert made with gooey melted Mars bars, crispy rice cereal, and a smooth chocolate topping. Quick, easy, and irresistibly chewy, it’s the perfect sweet treat for parties, lunchboxes, or indulgent snacking.

Ingredients

  • 4 Mars bars (about 200 g), chopped
  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 3 cups rice cereal (such as puffed rice or Rice Krispies)
  • 200 g milk chocolate (for topping)
  • 12 teaspoons vegetable oil or butter (optional, for smoothing chocolate)

Instructions

 

  • Line an 8-inch (20 cm) square baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Place the chopped Mars bars and butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and gently fold in the rice cereal until evenly coated.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and press it down firmly into an even layer.
  • Melt the milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl using a double boiler or microwave in short bursts.
  • Stir in a small amount of oil or butter if needed for a smoother texture.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the base and spread evenly.
  • Refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or until fully set.
  • Slice into squares or bars and serve.

Notes

Press the base firmly to ensure the slice holds together well.Let the slice sit at room temperature for a few minutes before cutting for cleaner slices.Use good-quality chocolate for the topping for best flavor.Avoid overheating the Mars mixture to prevent it from becoming too hard.You can reduce sweetness slightly by using dark chocolate on top.
