Ingredients

  • Chicken drumsticks
  • Soy sauce
  • Honey
  • Garlic, minced
  • Fresh ginger, grated
  • Ketchup
  • Brown sugar
  • Rice vinegar
  • Sesame oil
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • Green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, ketchup, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and a pinch of salt.
  • Add chicken drumsticks and mix until well coated. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with foil or parchment paper.
  • Arrange drumsticks in a single layer on the tray.
  • Bake for 35–45 minutes, turning halfway through and brushing with extra marinade.
  • Broil for 3–5 minutes at the end for a caramelized, glossy finish (watch carefully to avoid burning).
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For thicker glaze, simmer leftover marinade until reduced.Avoid overcrowding the tray for even caramelization.Adjust sweetness by reducing or increasing honey as desired.
