Hash Brown Bolognese Bake is a hearty and comforting casserole made with crispy hash browns, rich Bolognese meat sauce, and gooey melted cheese. Ingredients

  • Frozen or fresh hash browns
  • Ground beef
  • Onion (chopped)
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • Tomato paste
  • Olive oil
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • Optional: carrot (finely grated)
  • Optional: celery (finely chopped)
  • Optional: chili flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan and cook onion and garlic until soft and fragrant.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Stir in tomato paste, then add tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and optional vegetables.
  • Simmer for 15–20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Meanwhile, spread hash browns in a greased baking dish, pressing into an even layer.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until slightly crispy.
  • Remove from oven and spread Bolognese sauce evenly over the hash browns.
  • Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  • Return to oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
  • Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
