Turtle Lush is a no-bake dessert that layers chocolate, caramel, pecans, and a creamy whipped topping on a crunchy Oreo crust. With a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, this dessert is ideal for gatherings, parties, and any occasion where you want to impress guests without turning on the oven.
For the crust:
20 Oreo cookies with filling
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the cream cheese layer:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
8 oz whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
For the chocolate pudding layer:
1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1½ cups cold milk
For the topping:
1 cup chopped pecans
⅓ cup caramel sauce
Prepare the crust:
Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and rolling over them with a rolling pin. Mix the crumbs with melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form an even layer. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
Make the cream cheese layer:
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled crust.
Prepare the chocolate pudding layer:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until the pudding thickens. Let it sit for a few minutes to firm up, then spread it evenly over the cream cheese layer.
Assemble the topping:
Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer. Drizzle caramel sauce and chocolate syrup over the top. Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the drizzled sauces.
Chill and serve:
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the layers to set. Before serving, drizzle with additional caramel and chocolate sauces if desired.
Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free sandwich cookies for the crust.Nut-Free: Omit the pecans or substitute with sunflower seeds.Vegan: Use dairy-free cream cheese, whipped topping, and pudding mix.Additional Flavors: Incorporate a layer of caramel pudding or a sprinkle of sea salt for added depth.
