Ingredients

  • 1 medium apple (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), peeled and diced
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup or honey, divided
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp almond flour or oat flour
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter, melted
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chopped nuts, 1 tsp raisins, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and dice the apple into small cubes and place in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and half of the maple syrup or honey. Mix well to coat the apples evenly.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, almond flour, salt, melted coconut oil or butter, and the remaining sweetener. Mix until crumbly.
  5. Transfer the apple mixture into a small oven-safe ramekin or baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
