Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice is a buttery, flavorful side dish made with long-grain rice, aromatic spices, and a splash of soy sauce. It’s the perfect companion to grilled meats, chicken, or seafood, and is quick and easy to prepare at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups long-grain white rice
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Rinse rice under cold water until water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.
  4. Stir in rice and cook for 2–3 minutes to lightly toast.
  5. Sprinkle in garlic powder, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and soy sauce, stirring to combine.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–18 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  8. Remove from heat, fluff with a fork, and serve hot.

Notes

For a spicier version, increase cayenne or add hot sauce.Vegetarian version: Use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.For a nuttier flavor, toast rice longer before adding liquid.Fresh parsley or green onions make a great garnish.
