Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa or pico de gallo (drained if watery)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • Optional: 1 cup refried beans, diced tomatoes, chopped jalapeños
  • For garnish: whole black olives (for spider), sour cream (for spiderweb)
  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning until smooth and well combined.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture into the bottom of a shallow serving dish or pie plate.
  3. Carefully layer guacamole over the cream cheese layer, spreading gently to avoid mixing.
  4. Top with salsa or pico de gallo, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar, sliced black olives, and chopped green onions.
  5. Spoon sour cream into a small zip-top bag, snip a corner, and pipe a spiderweb design on the top of the dip.
  6. To make the spider: use one whole black olive for the body and a halved olive for the head. Slice thin legs from another olive and arrange around the body.
  7. Chill until ready to serve. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie dippers.

Notes

Drain salsa well to prevent the dip from becoming watery.Add refried beans or taco meat as a bottom layer for extra heartiness.Assemble up to 24 hours ahead; decorate just before serving.Adjust spice level with hot salsa, jalapeños, or red pepper flakes.Use a shallow dish for easy scooping and visible layers.
