Slow Cooker Mississippi Chicken is a flavorful, hands-off dish made with ranch seasoning, au jus mix, butter, and pepperoncini peppers. Perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep, or feeding a crowd, it’s tender, juicy, and incredibly versatile.

Ingredients

  • 23 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 68 pepperoncini peppers
  • 23 tablespoons pepperoncini juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken.
  3. Add the butter on top of the chicken in several chunks.
  4. Place the pepperoncini peppers over and around the chicken. If desired, pour in a few tablespoons of pepperoncini juice.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easy to shred.
  6. Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks.
  7. Mix well to combine the chicken with the juices and peppers.
  8. Serve hot as desired.
