  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the tacos:

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas (corn tortillas are gluten-free)

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix

  • 1 avocado, sliced

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

  • Lime wedges (for serving)

For the sauce (optional):

  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional, for spice)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the shrimp: In a bowl, combine shrimp, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly, and let marinate for 10-15 minutes.

  • Make the sauce: In a small bowl, mix sour cream (or Greek yogurt), mayonnaise, lime juice, hot sauce (optional), salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and well combined.

  • Cook the shrimp: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.

  • Assemble the tacos: Warm tortillas in a skillet or microwave. To assemble, place shrimp in the center of each tortilla, and top with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, cilantro, red onion, and a drizzle of the sauce. Squeeze lime juice over the top.

  • Serve: Serve the shrimp tacos immediately with extra lime wedges on the side.

Notes

Variations: For extra heat, add sliced jalapeños or more hot sauce. You can grill the shrimp for a smoky flavor or make a vegetarian version by replacing shrimp with grilled vegetables.Storage/Reheating: Store leftover shrimp and toppings separately in airtight containers for up to 2 days. Reheat shrimp in a skillet before assembling.
