  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional, for added heat)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh green onions, chopped (for garnish)

  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  • Cook the vegetables: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  • Prepare the sauce: Stir in diced tomatoes, chicken broth, tomato paste, paprika, thyme, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce (if using), salt, and pepper. Add bay leaf, and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens and flavors meld.

  • Cook the shrimp: Add shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes until pink and opaque. Stir in fresh parsley and green onions, adjusting the seasoning as needed.
