Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on package: eggs, oil, and water) OR homemade brownie batter (see below)
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • For homemade brownies:
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (95g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare brownie batter according to package instructions or whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
  3. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, until mostly set but not fully baked.
  4. Remove from oven and sprinkle mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, and chopped nuts evenly over the top.
  5. Return to oven and bake an additional 8–10 minutes, until marshmallows are puffed and lightly golden.
  6. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
