Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bread is a moist, warmly spiced quick bread filled with a sweet, tangy cream cheese layer. It’s the perfect cozy treat for fall, combining the flavors of pumpkin spice and cheesecake in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cream Cheese Filling:
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Do not overmix.
  5. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar, egg, flour, and vanilla extract, and mix until creamy.
  6. Pour half of the pumpkin batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Spoon the cream cheese filling on top of the batter and gently spread it out.
  8. Top with the remaining pumpkin batter, carefully spreading to cover the cream cheese layer.
  9. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
