Puff Pastry Nutella Twists are flaky, buttery pastries filled with rich chocolate-hazelnut spread and baked until golden and crispy. This easy Nutella puff pastry twist recipe uses simple ingredients and comes together quickly, making it perfect for breakfast, snacks, or a quick homemade dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • ½ cup Nutella

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon milk

  • 1 tablespoon granulated or coarse sugar (optional)

  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.

  3. Spread an even layer of Nutella over half of the pastry sheet, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. Fold the other half of the pastry over the Nutella to form a layered sheet.

  5. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut the pastry into 10–12 even strips.

  6. Twist each strip several times to create a spiral shape.

  7. Place the twists onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.

  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create an egg wash, then brush it over the pastry twists.

  9. Sprinkle granulated or coarse sugar on top if desired.

  10. Bake for 15–18 minutes until the twists are golden brown and puffed.

  11. Allow them to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
