  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Orange zest or sprinkles, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the cake mix according to package directions.

  3. Cool cake for 10 minutes, then poke holes evenly across the top using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  4. Dissolve orange gelatin powder in boiling water, then stir in cold water.
  5. Slowly pour the gelatin mixture over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.
  6. Refrigerate cake for at least 1 hour.

  8. Spread pudding evenly over the chilled cake.
  9. Top with whipped topping and garnish with orange zest or sprinkles, if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, use white or yellow cake mix with added orange extract and zest.Let gelatin set slightly before adding pudding to prevent sogginess. This cake tastes even better the next day as the flavors meld.Homemade whipped cream can be used but should be stabilized for best results.
