One Pot Cajun Beef Pasta is a bold, creamy, and satisfying dish made with pasta, tender beef, colorful veggies, and a rich Cajun-spiced sauce—all cooked together in one pot for easy prep and cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or similar)
  • 1 lb ground beef or sliced steak
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes or 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 cups chicken or beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef or sliced steak and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in Cajun seasoning, crushed tomatoes or tomato paste, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Add uncooked pasta and broth. Stir to combine, ensuring pasta is mostly submerged.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked and most liquid is absorbed.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce is creamy and thickened.
  8. Adjust seasoning to taste. Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan and fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce for extra heat.Use cheddar or mozzarella for a cheesy version.Swap beef for chicken, shrimp, or sausage if preferred. For dairy-free, use coconut milk or dairy-free cream. To loosen thick sauce, add a splash of broth when reheating.
