Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk, or a mix)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  • Cream Butter and Sugars:
    In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.

  • Add Eggs and Vanilla:
    Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  • Combine Dry Ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.

  • Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

  • Add Oats and Chocolate Chips:
    Stir in the rolled oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

  • Bake:
    Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • Cool and Slice:
    Allow the bars to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
