Jalapeño Poppers are bite-sized appetizers filled with a rich and creamy cheese mixture, offering the perfect balance of spicy, cheesy, and crunchy flavors that will please any crowd.

Ingredients

  • 10 large jalapeños, halved and deseeded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the jalapeños: Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid irritation from the oils.
  2. Make the filling: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. Stuff the jalapeños: Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, making sure they are generously filled.
  4. Serve: Remove the toothpicks (if used) and serve the jalapeño poppers hot. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs like cilantro or a squeeze of lime.

Notes

Spicy version: Add some chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the cheese filling for an extra spicy kick.Cheese variations: Use a mix of cheeses like Monterey Jack, cream cheese, and pepper jack for a creamier and spicier filling.Grilled version: Grill the poppers instead of baking them for about 10-15 minutes until crispy and the cheese is melted.Storage: Leftover poppers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.Reheating: Reheat the poppers in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or microwave for a quicker reheat (though they may lose some crispiness).
