Hot Chocolate is a warm, rich, and comforting drink made with real chocolate or cocoa powder blended with milk. Perfect for cold days or festive moments, this cozy beverage is easy to make and endlessly customizable with spices, extracts, and toppings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, marshmallows, shaved chocolate, cinnamon, crushed peppermint

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Slowly pour in about 1/4 cup of the milk, whisking to form a smooth paste.
  3. Gradually whisk in the remaining milk until fully combined.
  4. Heat the mixture, stirring frequently, until hot but not boiling.
  5. Add the chopped chocolate and stir until melted and smooth.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or other desired toppings.

Notes
