Honey Garlic Chicken Breast is a sweet and savory dish featuring juicy, pan-seared chicken coated in a glossy honey-garlic glaze. It’s quick to prepare and perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes or sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice). Stir and bring to a simmer.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet and coat with the sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, spooning the sauce over the chicken.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds or red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier alternative.Don’t burn the garlic—add it after cooking the chicken and cook just until fragrant.Add a pat of butter to finish the sauce for extra richness. To make it spicier, add red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha. For a gluten-free version, use tamari or gluten-free soy sauce.
