Homemade Stromboli is a rolled, baked pizza-style dish filled with melty cheese, savory deli meats, and marinara sauce, all wrapped in golden, crispy dough. It’s perfect for sharing at parties, weeknight dinners, or game-day gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 46 slices provolone or other cheese
  • 1 cup deli meats (such as pepperoni, salami)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. Layer with provolone slices, shredded mozzarella, and your choice of deli meats.
  5. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other, sealing the edges as you go.
  7. Pinch the ends closed and place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the top with the beaten egg and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cut a few slits in the top of the dough with a sharp knife to allow steam to escape.
  10. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra marinara sauce on the side.
