This Hasselback Caprese Chicken recipe is a simple yet impressive Italian-inspired dinner made with juicy chicken breasts stuffed with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board and carefully make several horizontal slices across each breast, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  • Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Stuff each slit with slices of mozzarella, tomato, and fresh basil.
  • Place the stuffed chicken breasts in a baking dish.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the top and sprinkle minced garlic evenly.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
  • Garnish with extra basil if desired.
