Halloween Pizza is a fun, spooky twist on traditional pizza, decorated with festive designs like spiderwebs, monster faces, or jack-o’-lanterns. Perfect for parties, family dinners, or cooking with kids, it’s a delicious and creative way to celebrate the holiday.

Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup tomato pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 810 slices pepperoni or salami
  • 1/4 cup sliced red bell pepper (for webs or faces)
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, spinach, or basil (optional)
  • Optional: mushrooms, onions, or other favorite toppings
  • Optional cheeses: provolone or cheddar for extra flavor
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing crust)
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Cornmeal or flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  2. On a lightly floured or cornmeal-dusted surface, roll or stretch the pizza dough into your desired shape (round, rectangle, or festive shapes like a pumpkin or ghost).
  3. Transfer the shaped dough to parchment paper or a prepared baking sheet.
  4. Brush olive oil along the edges of the crust to promote browning.
  5. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  7. Decorate your pizza: create spiderwebs with bell pepper strips, monster faces with olives and pepperoni, or jack-o’-lanterns using pepper pieces and cheese cutouts.
  8. Add any extra toppings you like, keeping designs visible.
  9. Sprinkle oregano and garlic powder lightly over the top.
  10. Bake the pizza on the preheated stone or baking sheet for 10–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  11. If needed, broil briefly (1–2 minutes) for a browned top—watch closely.
  12. Remove from oven and rest for a couple of minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

Preheat the oven and baking surface thoroughly for a crisp crust.Use simple, flat toppings for best design results.Prevent delicate decorations from burning by adding them partway through baking or covering lightly with foil.Try themed variations like ghost pizzas (white sauce and olive eyes) or pumpkin pizzas (pumpkin puree base).Leftovers can be refrigerated up to 3 days and reheated in the oven for best texture.
