Halloween Franken-cupcakes are festive and spooky treats decorated to look like Frankenstein’s monster. Featuring green frosting, candy eyes, and fun edible accents, these cupcakes are perfect for Halloween parties and kid-friendly baking fun.

Ingredients

  • 12 chocolate or vanilla cupcakes (homemade or box mix)
  • 1 1/2 cups butter or cream cheese frosting
  • Green food coloring
  • 24 candy eyeballs
  • 1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles or crushed Oreos
  • Black decorating gel or icing
  • 24 mini marshmallows or chocolate chips (for bolts)
  • Optional: edible markers for extra facial details

Instructions

  1. Bake cupcakes according to your preferred recipe or box mix instructions and allow them to cool completely.
  2. Mix green food coloring into the frosting until the desired shade of Frankenstein green is achieved.
  3. Frost each cupcake generously with the green frosting.
  4. Press chocolate sprinkles or crushed Oreos onto the top part of the frosting to form Frankenstein’s hair.
  5. Place two candy eyeballs just below the sprinkle hairline on each cupcake.
  6. Use black decorating gel or icing to draw a mouth and stitch marks on the cupcakes.
  7. Gently insert mini marshmallows or chocolate chips into the frosting on either side of each cupcake to represent Frankenstein’s bolts.
  8. Optionally, use edible markers to draw on extra facial details like eyebrows or scars.
  9. Chill slightly to set decorations or serve immediately.
