Guacamole is a classic Mexican dip made from ripe avocados mashed and mixed with fresh ingredients like lime juice, cilantro, onions, and tomatoes. It’s creamy, zesty, and perfect as a dip or topping.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Roma tomato, diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño or serrano pepper, minced (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados with a fork to your desired consistency—smooth or chunky.
  3. Add lime juice, chopped red onion, diced tomato, cilantro, jalapeño (if using), garlic (if using), and salt.
  4. Mix gently to combine all ingredients evenly.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.
  6. Serve immediately for the best flavor and color.

Use Hass avocados for best flavor and texture.To keep guacamole from browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface.Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.Do not freeze guacamole as it alters the texture.Customize with extras like corn, black beans, or pomegranate seeds.
