Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets or snap peas
  • 1/2 cup sliced carrots (optional)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce or oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin or oyster sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar (if using), water, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Pour the sauce into the pan and stir well to coat all ingredients. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is well combined.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.
  7. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
