Grilled pineapple is a vibrant and flavorful dish where the fruit’s natural sugars caramelize over high heat, creating sweet, smoky slices with golden grill marks. It’s a versatile side, topping, or dessert that pairs beautifully with both savory and sweet dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into rings or spears
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (optional, for serving)
  • 1 tablespoon oil or melted butter, for brushing the grill

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the pineapple into ½-inch thick rings or spears.
  3. Optional: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle or rub onto the pineapple slices.
  4. Brush the grill grates or pineapple with oil or melted butter to prevent sticking.
  5. Place pineapple on the grill and cook for 2–4 minutes per side, until grill marks appear and edges caramelize.
  6. Remove from grill. Optional: drizzle with honey or maple syrup and squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.
  7. Serve warm as a side dish, dessert, or topping.
