Ingredients

  • 400g (14 oz) pasta (spaghetti or linguine)
  • 450g (1 lb) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • ook pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter over medium heat.
  • Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and sauté garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add red pepper flakes (if using), then stir in lemon juice and zest.
  • Return shrimp to the skillet and toss in the sauce.
  • Add cooked pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water. Toss until well combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with parsley and parmesan if desired.
  • Serve immediately while hot.
