Garlic Bread is a simple and flavorful side dish made with crusty bread, rich garlic butter, and herbs, baked to golden perfection. It’s perfect with pasta, soups, or as a tasty snack on its own.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian loaf
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan or shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the bread in half lengthwise or into thick slices.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt if using.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  5. If using cheese, sprinkle it over the top of the bread.
  6. Place the bread on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and crispy.
  8. For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end, watching closely.
  9. Slice and serve warm.

Use fresh garlic for the best flavor, but garlic powder works in a pinch.Add red pepper flakes for a spicy version.Use vegan butter or olive oil for a dairy-free option.Freeze prepared garlic bread (before or after baking) for later use.To reheat, use the oven instead of a microwave to keep it crispy.
