Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 8 slices white sandwich bread
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Oil, for frying
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • Optional: whipped cream or chocolate drizzle, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Spread cheesecake mixture evenly on slices of bread.
  3. Top with sliced strawberries and cover with another slice of bread to form sandwiches.
  4. Trim crusts and press edges firmly to seal, brushing edges with beaten egg if needed.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry sandwiches 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels, then roll or sprinkle with granulated sugar while warm.
  8. Slice in half and serve with whipped cream or chocolate drizzle if desired.
