Ingredients

  • 12 ounces linguini pasta
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • ½ to 1 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguini according to package directions until al dente.
  • Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining the pasta.
  • While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and a small splash of reserved pasta water.
  • Return the shrimp to the skillet along with the cooked linguini.
  • Toss everything together until well coated. Add more pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  • Stir in the fresh parsley, basil, chives, and red pepper flakes.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
