Fig and Blue Cheese Tart is an elegant savory tart made with flaky puff pastry, sweet fresh figs, creamy ricotta, and tangy blue cheese. Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • 6–8 fresh figs, sliced

  • ½ cup blue cheese, crumbled

  • ½ cup ricotta cheese

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1–2 tablespoons honey

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet or tart pan.

  • Lightly score a 1-inch border around the edge of the pastry to create the crust edge.

  • In a small bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  • Spread the ricotta mixture evenly inside the scored border.

  • Arrange the sliced figs over the ricotta layer.

  • Sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese evenly over the tart.

  • Drizzle lightly with olive oil and scatter fresh thyme leaves on top.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until the pastry is golden and crisp.

  • Remove from the oven and allow the tart to cool slightly.

  • Drizzle with honey and balsamic glaze before serving.

Notes

Use ripe but firm figs for the best texture and flavor.Puff pastry should be cold but pliable when rolling it out.If the pastry puffs too much in the center, gently press it down after baking.This tart can be served warm or at room temperature.Walnuts or pecans can be added for extra crunch.
