Easy Tater Tot Casserole is a cozy, family-favorite meal made with seasoned ground beef, creamy soup, vegetables, cheddar cheese, and crispy tater tots. It’s simple, satisfying, and perfect for busy nights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, or green beans)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the meat is browned and onion is soft. Add garlic if using.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, then drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and frozen mixed vegetables until well combined.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  7. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
  8. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Optional: Sprinkle extra cheese on top during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  10. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
