Chocolate Crinkle Cookies are rich, fudgy cookies with a soft, brownie-like center and a beautiful crackled powdered sugar coating. They’re a festive favorite that’s as delicious as it is eye-catching.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a large bowl, beat granulated sugar and vegetable oil until well combined.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls and generously coat each in powdered sugar.
  8. Place cookies 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cookies have spread and developed crinkled tops.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Add mini chocolate chips for a double chocolate version.Chill the dough well to ensure crinkle texture.Use natural cocoa powder for best chocolate flavor.Freeze dough balls to bake later.Store with a slice of bread to keep cookies soft.
