Easy BBQ Chicken is a juicy and flavorful dish made with tender chicken pieces coated in smoky, tangy barbecue sauce. It’s perfect for weeknight dinners or weekend cookouts and can be cooked in the oven, on the grill, or on the stovetop.

Ingredients

  • 23 lbs chicken pieces (breasts, thighs, drumsticks, or a mix)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), or heat grill/skillet to medium-high.
  2. Pat chicken dry and brush lightly with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, and optional garlic/onion powder.
  3. Choose your cooking method:
    • Oven: Place chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 25–35 minutes until nearly cooked through.
    • Grill: Cook over direct heat for 6–8 minutes per side until almost done.
    • Skillet: Sear in an oiled pan for 5–7 minutes per side.
  4. Brush chicken generously with barbecue sauce.
  5. Return to oven, grill, or skillet for another 5–10 minutes until the sauce caramelizes and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
