Dutch Apple Fritter Bread is a soft, moist loaf filled with tender cinnamon-sugar apples and finished with a sweet vanilla glaze. This easy homemade apple bread delivers all the flavors of a classic apple fritter without frying, making it perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

For the bread:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup butter, melted

For the apple mixture:

  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan. Add half the apple mixture and lightly swirl.
  7. Add remaining batter, then top with the rest of the apple mixture. Gently swirl again.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled bread before slicing.
