Dubai chocolate bars are rich, luxurious treats made with silky chocolate, pistachios, dates, and fragrant Middle Eastern spices. Finished with a gold-dusted garnish, they’re indulgent, elegant, and surprisingly simple to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups high-quality dark or milk chocolate, chopped or chips
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup crushed pistachios
  • 1/4 cup toasted almonds or hazelnuts, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped dates
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1/2 tsp rose water
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional, for topping)
  • Optional: edible gold leaf or gold dust for garnish

Instructions

  1. Line a loaf pan or square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and sweetened condensed milk together, stirring frequently.
  3. Add chopped chocolate and stir until melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract or rose water and cardamom, if using.
  5. Fold in pistachios, dates, and toasted nuts until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle sea salt or more nuts on top if desired.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  9. Lift from the pan and slice into bars. Garnish with edible gold dust or leaf before serving.

Notes

Add dried apricots, rose petals, or shredded coconut for texture and color.Use white chocolate and a pinch of saffron for a unique variation.Replace dates with figs or raisins if preferred.Add crushed biscuits for extra crunch.For a spicy twist, stir in a pinch of cayenne or cinnamon.
