Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Optional Additions

  • ¼ cup white wine
  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Fresh spinach
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Season the chicken on both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in the Dijon mustard, chicken broth, and heavy cream until smooth and combined.
  • Add the fresh thyme and simmer the sauce for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  • Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
