A date shake is a naturally sweet and creamy drink made by blending Medjool dates with milk, vanilla, and optional add-ins like frozen banana or ice cream. It’s a healthy, energizing treat with a rich caramel flavor and no added sugar.

Ingredients

  • 6 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy like almond, oat, or soy)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Optional: 1/2 frozen banana or 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. If dates are firm, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes to soften.
  2. Add pitted dates, milk, vanilla extract, and ice to a blender.
  3. If using, add frozen banana or ice cream for a thicker texture.
  4. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or consistency with more dates or milk.
  6. Pour into a glass and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
  7. Serve immediately, chilled.
