Crescent roll cream cheese danish is a simple yet indulgent pastry made with flaky crescent dough and a sweet, creamy cheese filling. Topped with a vanilla glaze, this quick and easy treat mimics bakery-quality danishes with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk or cream (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese with granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and separate into rectangles (not triangles). Pinch seams together to seal.
  4. Cut each rectangle into smaller squares if desired and place them on the baking sheet.
  5. Lightly press the center of each square to create a small border.
  6. Spoon a dollop of cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
  7. Optional: brush edges with beaten egg for a glossy finish.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. While baking, prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  10. Once danishes cool slightly, drizzle with glaze and serve.

Add jam or fresh berries before baking for a fruity twist.Use puff pastry instead of crescent dough for a flakier texture.Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on edges for added flavor.Double the recipe for a crowd—use 2 cans of crescent rolls and double te filling.Store unglazed leftovers in the fridge and reheat before glazing.
