Creamy Chive Chicken is a rich and comforting skillet dinner made with tender chicken, fresh chives, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and a velvety cream sauce. This easy chicken recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, cozy family dinners, or elegant homemade meals.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts or boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup fresh chives, chopped
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, paprika, and onion powder.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken and cook for 5 to 7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, cream cheese, and Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the chopped fresh chives and simmer gently for 3 to 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the creamy sauce over the top.
  • Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until heated through.
  • Serve warm with rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
