Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh crab meat (or canned crab meat or imitation crab)

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or any seafood seasoning)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup cucumber, finely chopped (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Lettuce leaves or crackers (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the crab meat: Gently pick through fresh crab meat to remove any shell bits, or chop canned or imitation crab into bite-sized pieces.

  • Make the dressing: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, and parsley until smooth and well combined.

  • Combine the ingredients: Add crab meat, chopped celery, red onion, and cucumber (if using) to the bowl with the dressing. Gently fold together, keeping the crab chunks intact for the best texture.

  • Season and adjust: Taste and adjust with salt, pepper, and extra lemon juice or Old Bay seasoning as desired.

  • Serve: Chill the salad before serving. Enjoy it on a bed of lettuce, in a sandwich, wrap, or with crackers. Garnish with extra fresh parsley if desired.

  • Enjoy: Serve chilled and enjoy the refreshing and creamy crab salad.
