These Cobweb Brownies are rich, fudgy chocolate brownies topped with a striking spiderweb design made from white chocolate or vanilla icing. Perfect for Halloween parties and festive gatherings, cobweb brownies combine deep chocolate flavor with an easy decorative technique that looks impressive but requires minimal effort.
½ cup unsalted butter
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate
¾ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
Melt Chocolate & Butter:
In a heatproof bowl, melt butter and semi-sweet chocolate together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
Whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Combine Batter:
Gradually fold dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
Bake:
Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the center is set but still slightly fudgy.
Cool completely in the pan.
Create Cobweb Design:
Melt white chocolate or prepare vanilla icing.
Pipe concentric circles over cooled brownies.
Using a toothpick, drag lines from the center outward to form a spiderweb pattern.
Set & Slice:
Allow decoration to set before cutting into 12–16 squares.
