Classic Green Bean Casserole is a beloved holiday side dish made with tender green beans, creamy mushroom sauce, and a crispy fried onion topping. It’s simple, comforting, and always a crowd-pleaser for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce (if using), and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add green beans and 2/3 cup of the fried onions. Stir to coat well.
  4. Transfer mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, stir gently, and top with the remaining fried onions.
  7. Bake an additional 5–10 minutes, until the onions are golden and crispy.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.
