Churro French Toast Rolls are creamy, crispy breakfast treats made by rolling sweetened cream cheese in flattened bread, pan-frying them, and coating them in cinnamon sugar. A delicious blend of churro and French toast flavors that’s perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 810 slices white sandwich bread (soft, crusts removed)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for cream cheese mixture)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Set aside.
  2. Trim the crusts from each slice of bread and flatten with a rolling pin.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture on one end of each bread slice.
  4. Roll up each slice tightly and press the edge to seal.
  5. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract to make the custard mixture.
  6. Dip each roll in the custard, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  7. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook rolls until golden brown on all sides, turning frequently.
  8. In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  9. Immediately roll the warm French toast rolls in the cinnamon sugar until fully coated.
  10. Serve warm with optional toppings like syrup, chocolate sauce, or fresh fruit.
